This past week, Rhino came with part two in their Cure deluxe edition releases. It featured double CDs of The Top, Kiss Me, Head on the Door, and the very seldom mentioned Blue Sunshine. Thought most of the double CDs are filled with half-hearted demos really aimed at fanatic fans, the truly great bonus in this set is the The Glove's Blue Sunshine. Recorded in 1983 with Steven Severin of the Banshees and Robert Smith, teamed up for what could have been a monumentous release if it had not been for Smith's contractual obligations to only sing on Cure albums. He was granted two tracks and turned over the remaining singing to a full-time dancer Langley (girlfriend to the Banshees' drummer). She does a functional job but it doesn't compare to Smith near-operatic abilities. But now we get a glimpse of what could have been.
